Dude! Don't Be Rude!

ALWAYS express gratitude...even for little things.
Gratitude is a BRIDGE over which future blessings will be delivered.
It's proper etiquette & just basic manners to say, "Please" & "Thank you."
I've met people who act like since they're "the boss" they don't have to say "Please" or "Thank you", because they're paying people to do a job. That may be true, to a degree, but it's not good leadership.
There is NO PERFECT place of employment, church, ministry, school, club, etc., but we would all do so much better if we stepped up our MANNERS GAME.
Also...while we're talking about etiquette...(well, maybe I'm the only talking about it lol)...I would say...
1. PLEASE keep your word.
2. Communicate.
3. Over Communicate.
4. Don't call off sick all the time.
5. Be dependable.
6. Grow up & quit getting offended by everything.
7. Do your best for The Lord, when you're working with people.
8. Be integrous! (By the way, it's NOT integrous to routinely miss church, but your timeline shows you & your kids are all over the city, shopping, playing sports, eating out, at the movies, birthday parties, etc...but you call off every week when it's Wednesday or Sunday? This is NOT integrous. Get it together! Jesus sees everything! We can't lie to Him.)
9. Practice ahead of time.
10. Make copies ahead of time. We know we have lessons, crafts, etc...days before...so we shouldn't wait 10 minutes before service to do what you should have done days ahead of time. ðŸ™‚ Our kids deserve better. Also, we shouldn't get upset when the printer needs toner or paper...and we're in a rush. (We wouldn't be in a rush if we prepared ahead of time.) lol lol lol
11. Be nice.
12. Be considerate.
13. Don't be loud.
14. Chew with your mouth closed. Don't chomp, slurp, burp, dig at your teeth & pick your nose in public. lol lol
15. Keep your pants pulled up.
16. Speak when spoken to.
17. Just because you think it doesn't mean you have to say it.
18. Consider someone's struggle or situation, if they say something rude. They may be extremely stressed & not 100%. Give them some space & grace. You may need that same space & grace yourself.
19. Be prompt. On time. Early.
20. Everyday, look for a way to make someone else's life better. Send a text, email, make a call, send a card, flowers, etc...and just say, "Thank you for all you do!"

I Like Kind People

Has anyone ever shown you kindness for kindness sake?

Definition of Kindness = the state or quality of being kind; good will; grace; tenderness; compassion; humanity; gentleness; goodness; generosity; favor.

One Christmas, when I was about 11 years old, my cousin Daniel received three Survival Knives. To be honest, I was jealous.  I wanted one but that certainly wasn't what I received as a gift that year. No, instead of a survival knife, I ended up with socks, underwear and undershirts. Lucky me.

Apparently Daniel saw the disappointed look in my eyes and was moved with kindness to give me one of his.  WOW...to this day...that is one of the best memories I have of KINDNESS!  Guess what?  I still have that survival knife!!!!!!!

Do you have a memory of kindness?

In the Bible, the story that I can't get enough of is in 2 Samuel 9 where David shows kindness to Mephibosheth.  He asked, "Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"

That question showed the heart of David.  He's asking, "What can I do for someone else?"

David had kindness in him...and what was in him came out because of his covenant relationship with his friend/brother Jonathan.

You see, Jonathan had a crippled son who was hiding in the land of Lodebar. Mephibosheth knew full well that any decedents from the previous king were to be executed since they were considered a potential rival to the throne.  I'm sure the knock on the door caused fear in Mephibosheth's heart because he realized that he was no longer hidden from David.  The Bible says that Mephibosheth fell on his face in the presence of David.  According to the custom of the times, Mephibosheth had a lot to fear from David. Yet his fear of David was not founded in fact, only on assumption.

David removes the fears of Mephibosheth!

  1. Do not fear!
  2. I will surely show you KINDNESS for Jonathan your father's sake!
  3. I will restore to you all the land of Saul!
  4. You shall eat bread at MY TABLE continually!

Mephibosheth was happy to know that David didn't want to kill him.  To have a PROMISE like this was almost unbelievable!

The beautiful part of this story will always be that as long as Mephibosheth sat at the table of David, no one could see his lameness!

Friend, when you and I stay at the King's table, we receive the same covering!

It's important that you know
who's table you're sitting at...
your future depends on it!

Today, I encourage to show KINDNESS to someone...no matter what they look like, how they act or what they've done!

This is what Jesus did for you!

It's Kindness Not Condemnation That Wins People!

We live in an unkind world. Many times we encounter rudeness, meanness & just plain hatefulness. We've all experienced it and felt it's wrath!

And yet, as Christians we are told to be kind. No matter what people do to you, say about you or think about you...you still have to practice loving them like Jesus does.

Since God was patient with us (2 Peter 3:9); therefore we should be patient with others.

It was God’s KINDNESS that led us to Him (Romans 2:4); therefore we should know it will be our KINDNESS (not our condemnation) that will lead others to Him as well.

Consider praying for those who are unkind. That's what Job did in Job 42. He ended up praying for "his friends."

Quite honestly, they didn't seem like the kind of friends anyone would want to have. Friends don't do what they did. In fact, we would consider them "FRENEMIES!" (An enemy that's friendly to your face but talks about you like trash to others.)

With friends like Job had, who needs enemies? And yet God told Job to pray for them.

Like Job, you'll have to pray for those who lie on you, break their promises, betray your trust, scheme & plot to destroy you.

Keep being KIND!
Pray for them anyway!

Even those who are unkind to you need kindness showed to them. Believe me, they're going to need it when they realize what's coming.

Always keep this verse before you regardless of who it is:  "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;" (Romans 12:10 KJV)
