What You Value, You Honor

What you value, you honor.

You cannot truly honor someone & try to control or belittle them. True honor is manifested when we celebrate the gift(s) someone is to us through our actions.

If we do not place value on the gift we have, we will end up losing that gift because we could not discern it's value properly.

I've seen organizations, churches, companies, etc., lose valuable leadership, that was postured to lead them from NOW to NEXT, because they didn't recognize the gift they had.

What a sad commentary of antiquity, when the whims of history distort the path of destiny. We can lock ourselves up in the trappings of Rip Van-winkle when everything that comes out of our mouth is, "yesterday, yesterday, yesterday".

Every living thing is either GROWING or DYING.

The FOOT does not need the permission of the SHOE, to grow.

May we examine our culture of anything that is hindering the organic growth needed to PRODUCE more than lethargy.

You're Worth More Than a C+

When I was in Jr. High, at age 14, I made this bread box in Wood Shop Class. I felt a great sense of accomplishment to have made something with my own two hands. However, my teacher felt it was only worth a C+.
Fast Forward: with all the choices & styles available today, My wife, @beverly_hylton, has insisted on using this bread box for nearly 29 years of marriage. I opened the pantry this morning & it just stood out to me that she has stored our bread in this for our entire marriage.
My teacher said it was only worth a C+...but 35 years later, my wife thinks its priceless.
Maybe you feel like your life is a C+. Maybe you feel like you have so much to offer but no one seems to recognize your value.
You may have some age on you, be less than perfect, feel you're not as trendy as others or even feel like you're not the right color or style...but friend, GOD THINKS YOU'RE PRICELESS!
He has a PLAN & a PLACE for you. Even if it's in the pantry...keeping the bread fresh. He thinks you're valuable! He sees you 35 years from now...He has always seen your value!

Thoughts This Evening

THOUGHTS THIS EVENING...
(1) Never take for granted those you love. Call or hug someone today in your family or friendship circle & let them know how much you care.
(2) I learned first hand that you don't get a revelation about life, until you sniff death. Then, you don't take life for granted! Everyday is a gift.
(3) Let people know how valuable they are to you. Don't take for granted that they know. Everyone can't read between the lines. Say it & say it often.
(4) Set your heart to forgive others long before you have to. That way you'll minimize the struggle when someone's selfishness hurts you.
(5) I have learned to love people up close & from a distance. Access to your life is a privilege...not a right. Keep loving, but learn who to let in close & who to love with your eyes open.
(6) Joseph survived lies, betrayal, rejection & hurt, but he CHOSE to forgive without receiving an apology. Choose to forgive & love.
(7) God is preparing a table before you in the presence of those who mocked you, kicked you, wrote you off & believed a lie. Go ahead & eat without an apology.
(8) What JESUS did in the Garden of Gethsemane was extraordinary! He established His YES, survived betrayal & healed an enemy's ear. Who will be healed by your wounds?
(9) May you be HEALED, entirely, as you receive the Word of God into your spirit.

What If?

WHAT IF:
• I were the owner of a restaurant, but never ate at it?
• I were the owner of a hotel, but never stayed at it?
• I were the coach of a sports team, but never attended a game?
• I were the leader of a ministry, but never led it?
• I were the pastor of a church, but never attended it?
WHAT IF:
• There was a restaurant convention in town but, as an owner, I didn't avail myself or my team to it?
• There was a hotel convention in town but, as an owner, I didn't avail myself or my team to it?
• There was a sports conference in town but, as the coach, I didn’t avail myself or my team to attend it?
• There was a Childrens/Student/Leadership Ministry conference/event in town but, as a ministry leader, I didn't avail myself or my team to it?
• There was a pastor's/leadership conference in town but, as a pastor/staff, I didn't avail myself or my team to it?
Are you thinking like an OWNER or an EMPLOYEE?
Are you thinking like a SON or a SERVANT?
How you see yourself often determines the words you speak & the actions you take. I would go as far as to say that the way you see yourself is the way others will treat you.
As I've served in ministry & observed business practices...I've learned that we can never stop learning. We must continually position ourselves to learn where we can & when we can.
I've also learned that my actions reveal who I am. This verse has always been powerful to me: Where your treasure is...there your heart will be. (Matthew 6:21)
If the company I work for (which pays my salary & provides my livelihood) succeeds...I succeed.
If the church I attend & serve in (which provides me community, a place to fulfill my calling & spiritual help) succeeds...I succeed...and my family succeeds, too.
When you GRASP this...it's a REVELATION that will affect your actions.
I've always lived my life with this thought, "I must promote what's promoting me." In other words, what ever is adding value to me...I need to make sure I'm adding value to it as well. It's a principle called RECIPROCITY.
I also approach this from another perspective: How can I bring improvements to where I'm at? A lot of times, we get in a rut & need to remind ourselves that we are called to ADD VALUE everywhere we are.
Don't let miscommunication, misunderstanding or misinformation allow you to miscarry your full potential! God wants you to BLOOM where you're planted!
Bring VALUE to the table & be determined to IMPROVE yourself in the process. God will bless you & others in the process.
It's a journey.
One step at a time.
Hit the reset button, but don't give up.
What if you turn your WHAT IF into a WHY NOT?

You Are Valuable!

1. Don’t waste your time trying to be successful, spend your time creating VALUE. When you’re valuable to those around you, you will be successful.
2. Don't DEVALUE yourself just because someone else did not recognize your VALUE.
3. I've learned that when you are new, people seem to VALUE you. Once they get used to you, you can become an OPTION.
4. At times, you will feel WORN OUT. But it will be WORTH it! God is about to get more VALUE out of your life!
5. Never waste your time pouring the best of who you are into people that don't VALUE who you are.

Adding Value is Valuable!

Successful people have one thing in common. It really doesn't matter what field they're in...they all do one specific thing on a consistent basis.  They are busy ADDING VALUE to other people's lives in some way.  By doing this, they also create success for themselves.  This doesn't happen by accident...it is 100% INTENTIONAL! Creating greater VALUE for others is always received!  I've never met a person yet who got angry because someone made them feel good about themselves.

Be Intentional today! Create VALUE for someone else and you'll create SUCCESS for yourself.

I’m sure you know by now that everyone in the province of Asia deserted me, even Phygelus and Hermogenes. But God bless Onesiphorus and his family! Many’s the time I’ve been refreshed in that house. And he wasn’t embarrassed a bit that I was in jail. The first thing he did when he got to Rome was look me up. May God on the Last Day treat him as well as he treated me. And then there was all the help he provided in Ephesus—but you know that better than I.  2 Timothy 1:15-18 (MSG)
